Our client is an organization that has grown in recent years to a multicultural team of 15 employees from Europe, Asia and South America. The company was founded by 2 Belgians. Together with their team they want to work every day on eco-friendly solutions in the field of clean electricity for companies, partners and governments.  

Currently the organization is looking for a Technical Sales & Project Engineer  to strengthen the team. Do you have 3 to 5 years of sales experience in the energy industry? Is traveling for business something you long for? Then, you might be the candidate we are looking for!


The position
You are responsible for the active follow-up of prospects that come to the organization. You will explore these leads, evaluate their request for collaboration and reply promptly. You do follow-up the networking coming from the social media channels of the company. You are a real relationship builder

You build and maintain relationships with customers and prospects. You are able to keep a dialogue with people from different backgrounds and positions. You make appointments with these people; you define their specific needs and translate them into convincing proposals.

You are continuously aware of trends, competitors and international environmental policies related to energy to identify improvements and to recommend new services. You are also responsible for contacting international agencies and seek funding mechanisms.  

You work closely with and report to the Sales Director. Together with the team, you propose and adjust the sales strategy with input from the market, in agreement with senior management

Your Profile:
  • You obtained a Master or a Bachelor degree in one of the following fields: renewable energy, biology, physics, hydraulic engineering, hydrology, bio-engineering, industrial engineering, commercial engineering. 
  • You are very fluent in English and French both spoken and written, speaking Dutch is a nice to have.
  • You have 3 to 5 years of experience as a sales person in the energy industry. 
  • You are a good communicator on various levels (CEO’s, ministers, organizations, engineers, legal…). 
  • You are resourceful: you know how to put priorities, solve problems on the spot and you can turn small resources into large levers. 
  • You are willing to travel to remote areas (the company provides the necessary safety and security measures). 
  • You had multicultural experiences in the past. 
  • You are not afraid to ask for help and assistance, or to lose face. You are able to deal with criticism coming from clients, and you know how to turn that feedback into a business advantage. 
  • Landing a profitable deal is what gets you going. 
  • You will not be complacent after a success or two: you’re always eager for more and you’re not easily satisfied. 
  • You do not feel hindered by obstacles, or lack of resources. 
  • You take responsibility and do not blame others but learn from mistakes and mishaps. 
  • You are open and broad minded.
  • You have practical knowledge of the SDG’s.
